Henderson County United Way announces the awarding of the Mary Waddell Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship honors the memory of Mary Waddell, a local community builder and former Executive Secretary of the Henderson County United Way, the scholarship recognizes students passionate about volunteering and community service.

1st generation college student who will attend Baylor Universityin the Fall 2023, majoring in Biological Sciences/Pre-Med.Aspires to become a Doctor of Pediatrics and will practice in Henderson County.

1st generation college student who will attend Stephen F Austin University in the Fall 2023, majoring in Secondary Teacher Education. Aspires to earn Bachelors and Masters degrees and then teach history at a small rural high school to inspire her students towards their aspirations.
